Security & protection

Juni is not a bank but rather a financial technologies company, that is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), which means they do not offer protection by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

Instead they keep all of their customers' money in accounts, with the Bank of Lithuania and the Bank of England, that offer safeguarding for 100% of the funds. So in theory if they were to go bankrupt you should still get all of your money back because they don't actually hold it.

They also offer multi-factor authentication (MFA/2FA) on all their accounts and biometric login on mobile devices. There are extensive user roles and permissions available to put in place for the account and cards, so you have an extra layer of protection against bad actors.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Juni business account you must:

  • Be a limited liability company (LLC)
  • Be a UK or EEA-based business
  • Be 18 or over

Opening an account

Here's how to open a Juni business account:

  1. Head to their website to find their online application form
  2. Complete their digital application - Juni will confirm your eligibility
  3. Verify business information & submit identification by uploading relevant documents
  4. Once approved (usually within 10 days), you can start using your account

Juni don't conduct any credit checks for the individual directors, but as part of their verification process they do check company information and credit reposts from company registers and credit bureaus.

Additional services

Juni offers their customers a credit line to help scale their businesses or improve cashflow.

The Juni card is a charge card so you move money to it but the credit offering is slightly different. You can assign credit to your existing Juni card (which can also have your own funds included) or you can create another card and move all your credit there (in this case, it would be a credit card).

Credit is available up to £2 million and you'll even earn cashback on all your eligible spend. And you can manage all your lines of credit easily through your Juni dashboard, assigning credit to specific actions like Google or Facebook Ads, so you never accidentally overspend.

The payment terms start at 30 days, plus seven days (so 37 days guaranteed) but 60 day terms are available. Making the cards a great alternative to invoice financing or a good solution for Google Ads spend if you have to wait to get paid.

Juni's credit is only available to companies registered in the UK at the moment and eligibility is subject to application, review and financial circumstances.

Juni reviews
